Glass manufacturing requires atmosphere control at every process stage, from the tin bath that shapes float glass to the annealing lehr that relieves stress in the finished product. Nuberg Gas Plant Division supplies on-site nitrogen and hydrogen for float glass, container, and specialty glass operations, replacing cylinder dependency across the float glass industry.

Nitrogen forms approximately 90% of the protective atmosphere in the tin bath, mixed with 10% hydrogen. Hydrogen acts as a scavenging agent, maintaining an oxygen-free environment since molten tin is highly sensitive to oxidation at 600°C – protecting the glass ribbon from stains, haze, and tin bloom, and maintaining optical clarity and A-grade yield. Beyond float glass, these systems inert forehearths and annealing lehrs for container and bottle glass, support furnace purging and polishing for tableware and specialty glass, cool bushings for glass fiber and wool production, and protect coating chambers and tempering furnaces for solar and technical glass. Purity runs from 99.9% to 99.999%, delivered through MS and MS-H Model plants.
MS and MS-H Model plants hold the precise nitrogen-hydrogen ratio the tin bath needs at 600°C, and serve the wider range of float, container and specialty glass processes.
From sourcing to delivery, we ensure premium quality and reliability at every step.
Let’s build a strong business relationship together.
